Ordway Glass Company

Lewis and Clark. Ordway Glass Company. Corps of Discovery. United States Army. Stained Glass

We are a family-owned and operated company founded in Fuquay-Varina, NC in 2023.

Our company is named after Sergeant John Ordway, the senior Sergeant of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Serving as the First Sergeant, he was in charge when Captain Meriwether Lewis and Second Lieutenant William Clark weren't around...which was probably often.

Our logo captures the distinctive mark of the First Sergeant - the diamond - along with two crossed pipehawks, representing the pipe tomahawks carried by members of the Corps of Discovery.

In 1803, President Thomas Jefferson commissioned the Corps of Discovery as a super-special unit of the United States Army, forming the nucleus of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The Corps' mission was reconnaissance. It's objective was scientific and commercial – to study the area's people, plants, animal life, and geography, and to learn how the Louisiana Purchase could benefit the nation.
